the day went on as normal...
daytime, Curtin.. classes.. hang around...
nothing much happened... except that I need to do my Chemistry lab report...
just my luck that my teammates are new students and are unfamiliar with writing a lab report...
and to think the deadline is this Friday.. sigh....

This is the day that I'd like to update on most...
daytime, Curtin.. classes... hang around... had a simple meeting with my other CV! division members... Iqbal couldn't join cause he had to go back to Brunei for some business..
anyway... that evening, had planned for a movie outing with Roger... and the whole day I spent looking for people to join me...
but no luck... and by evening time, I figured it'll only be me and Roger, watching 'Hitch' together... turned out otherwise somehow..

First.. he got to invite a friend of his, Jack... he came... and we hung around Popular bookstore reading books.. mainly comics.. haha!
then when the time of the movie was nigh, we waited outside the movie theater.
that was where I was surprised...
I encountered Daryll, Snow Jae, Amos, Derek & then Ovie... some others such as Krish & Hari were already watching another movie...
I was so surprised to know that they were going to watch the same movie of the same time as me and Roger!
haha! what coincidence!
anyway.. the movie... Hitch...
it's a great movie... I'm definitely writing one review on that... soon...

I find it unfair though, that this movie's comedic humour is compared with another big hit comedy movie.. Robots..
for one thing, Hitch doesn't have any computer graphics or animations or whatever.. it is purely real people acting out the comedy..
Robots, on the other hand, is purely computer-animated... so the animators and director or whoever can just go all out with the jokes and humours...
that's my opinion anyway...

Anyway... after the movie, headed back home and slept... haha...

Daytime.. spent time at Curtin again.. classes... hanging around with friends... did some CV! related work... did some Math related work.. haha...
came back evening time and had to do my Chemistry lab report...
now.. it's almost 100% done.. was able to contact my team members to do something for the report...
hopefully can be done by tomorrow... if not.... time to beg Ms. Lau to give me an extension... *sparkling babyish eyes*

haha... anyway.. time for me to watch some Shaman King... another Japanese Anime series... hehe!

Above average day..

Today's been quite a day... hehe... above average...

Morning, got to school with my brother...
found my Curtin notebook that I left behind at the Lecture Theater..
then spent my time online at the computer lab...
after a while online, spent time at the cafeteria.. hanging with some of my friends... Johnna, Angeline, Jamie & others....
also got to hang with Abel, Taufik, Lis, Nadia & others...
that was when I got to know that Abel was flying off that afternoon later.... to somewhere in China...
So thought to join Iqbal & Taufik to send him off...

1pm, Writing & Research Skills 062... with Ms. Anita!!
yeah.. her first class with us since Ms. Oktavia announced the change...
got to learn more on Harvard Referencing... and was then out of the class half an hour earlier...
Spent my time at the cafeteria.... and then a little time at the computer lab again...
soon came the time to go meet up with Iqbal at the Admin. building.. the lobby...
encountered Kimmy there and after explaining to her what was happening, she too joined us...
Taufik was late.. haha... but we left about the appointed time as planned...

When arrived at Abel's house... he was just showering... so just waited outside his house for a while... haha...
something that Taufik said just triggered Kimmy to act all unhappy and such.. haha... hilarious...
When Abel was done, we immediately left for the airport...
It was fun short trip and when arrived at the airport, Abel checked in, and then quickly went to the waiting area to wait for the boarding time...
sigh.. not gonna be seeing him around for one week...

after the airport, we planned to go out to Bintang Plaza for dinner... got to come by my house so that I can get some cash for my wallet.. haha...
haha.. remember that Kimmy was acting all unhappy and such..
well.. cause of what Taufik said, she became strict on herself and watched what she was going to eat for a while... haha.. felt so sorry for her.. haha...

Oh yeah.. besides that, tomorrow's Oscar's birthday... the guys around campus are planning to toss him into the lake on campus some time after the stroke of midnight... haha...
we also bought one birthday cake.. a very nice one for him... hahah!
do wonder what he'll think of it... hahah!
plus, since I couldn't make it for his... celebration.... I had asked Iqbal to give him a HARD bear hug... and something else from either Kimmy or Taufik.. but then I can't be sure if the eitehr of the two will do it though.. hopefully they did... it'll be SO funny then.. ahhaha!

can't wait for tomorrow to know what had happened...

Ordinary days...

Time to update on yesterday and today....

Yesterday, a Saturday... morning... I had a craving for some movie.. so messaged Iqbal to make plans and I was hoping for him to round up some people back at Curtin... either to watch a movie that afternoon or the next day...
then spent most of my time on the computer... finally was even able to take time to watch the japanese anime series, Naruto, after so long....

as I was watching.... suddenly, Iqbal called me to tell me that he was heading down already as Izzah and some others had already planned to watch Miss Congeniality 2 that evening... it wasn't the other movie that I had initially wanted to watch, Robots.. but I still get to hang with the gang.. so I shot for it...
had a quick shower and as I did, they already arrived at my house.. ahh!
rushed to wear my socks and shoes before going out...

Those of us that went were Iqbal, Izzah, Barke, Lis, Nadia, Oscar & Taufik....
We had a great time watching the movie... the movie's good... I'm not able to identify any particularly bad part about the movie....
don't know if I wanna bother with a review though... we'll see if I get around that....

anyway... oh yeah... don't know if I should say this and reveal to everyone... but i'm gonna...
that day, we encountered Ehon... ah! long time no see! haha... the girls were especially estatic to see him again...
reason why he was back in Miri was because of the roadshow in front of Bintang Plaza... 'The Ultimate Battle of the Band: Lord of the Band'
basically... it was like a preview show of the coming competition of musical bands...
He was helping with the roadshow... I don't know exactly what.. but Poey was also there...
just to spread the news, Poey got to star in an upcoming movie called 'The Legend'... 'Sarawak's First Film' according to the brochure... most of my Curtin friends are definitely gonna be looking forward to it when it comes out this June...

anyway.. that evening, ate dinner at McDonald... by that time, Izzah & Barke had already headed back to campus by bus...
after dinner, stuck around to watch the roadshow... until it end at about after 9pm....
that time, we headed off... they wanted to go on back to freshen up.. and maybe go back to Cheerie Berries...
I didn't feel the same.. so I got home and stayed there.... tomorrow work bah...
slept after I redid my phonebook in my mobile phone...

the next day.. Sunday... today... this morning... went to work..
today wasn't too busy.. not too crowded... but yet... still a lot of customers boh... didn't feel like it was too terribly busy... no idea how so...

today's been raining a lot... an hours or so before heading home from work and all the way til evening time... it rained the whole afternoon!
that's one heavy rain.... wonders if that got rid of the haze that's been lingering around Miri for so long...
anyway.. after work, got to watch Naruto all the way til the latest episode available for download.... 126...
very exciting... haha... finally that Kimimaro (the guy who manipulates his own bones) got into his Level Two power.... the state where he becomes like a demon.. can't wait to continue watching the coming episodes...
and I do wonder what is up with Sasuke now... suddenly just dashing off like that... is he heading to where Orochimaru is? but then he doesn't know where to find him... does he?
haha.. nevermind... this anime series is good with its suspense.. though I got to know that quite some of the anime's fan around here don't enjoy that... hahaha...
not me... I can wait patiently.... as long as the story is good... I'll be able to enjoy the anime just fine.....

The BIG night and then some!!

The night came and it was great... lots of fun despite lots of bumps...

Morning, came to school early with my brother...
went to the computer lab and updated my blog...
then went to cafeteria and set up the CV booth.. and then just stayed there til afternoon...
doing homeworks... while just taking care of the booth...
not many joined me there... but eventually as time went on, more came and joined me... and soon it was time for my one hour class... Chemistry...

One hour later, came out and joined the booth again...
cleared it up... and soon I changed my clothing to formal wear for tonight's event... the CV Welcoming Gathering...
By 5pm, headed to the Lecture Theater and started decorating the hall... we only had one hour as 6pm there will be another class happening there...
blew lots of balloons... tested the projector and equipments... hung the CV banner... and then some...
we did a simple decoration of the place but it still looked all right...
then students for the next class were beginning to come in... so we had to go then...
we went to have a little dinner before the event... and soon, 6.30pm, we all went to gather at the LT Foyer.. trying to get people to gather too..

Initially we had quite little people there... and as time proceeded, more and more were beginning to join us...
At the foyer, we played three games... first of all... was 'Where the wing blows'...
and then we play 'Bomb'.... and finally we played the 'Telephone game'...
everyone enjoyed themselves there.. hahah!
after that, we then went inside the Lecture Theater... We started things off by distributing the members into alphabet groups...
and then, we started the event off with a cool CV! Intro Flash, made by Krishna... and then followed by a couple of speeches from the President of the Student Council of 2004, Raymond Ting and then CV! Former President, Debbie...
And then a welcoming speech from our CV! advisor, Abel..
In between his speech, he'd welcomed the two CV! Presidents, Snow Jae & Serena to present to everyone about CV! and its vision, missions and goals...
And in conclusion to his speech, he showed the CV! Past Activities Slideshow, titled 'Turning Back the Hands of Time', made by me...
After that, it was the introductions of the four different divisions...
MCs for the night included the four of the main six EXCO members, Bay, Nadia, Navodi & Kimmy...

First, Administrations & Publicity (AP), by me, Iqbal, Lis & Krishna...
Our presentation was a simple introduction to the division's Executive Committee (EXCO) members and a very short description of our division's functions and works...
but we concluded our presentation with a very cool AP flash, created by Krishna as well...

Second, Professional Advancement (PA), by Daryll, KC & Sara (Fiona was not able to be present for the gathering last night)..
After introducing their division EXCO members, Daryll proceeded with talking about his division's work...
The presentation also included a humorous flash movie titled 'Bored Corp' and also a short video which included golf...
In his presentation, Daryll even asked some of the audience how professional is CV! so far in their eyes... so far, all three responses were positive!

Third, Social & Community Services (SCS), by Izzah, Amos, Nicholas & Giegel...
They started off their presentation with a sketch about two complete extremes and one perfect balance... Izzah as a narrator, Amos as a studious extreme, Nicholas as a complete opposite of that (heavy alcoholic was the choice) & Giegel as the perfect balance...
Their sketch, though simple, had a good level of comedy and was able to entertain everyone, including the EXCO members....
From the sketch, they emphasized that CV! welcomes people of all walks of life as the three different characters, in the end, revealed that they had one thing in common.. they were all CV! members...
After that, they went on to talk about their own division and its works...

Here, there was a little break... Suddenly the PA divison, Daryll, KC & Sara went to the front...
They introduced everyone to a game 'Shake your butt'...
'Side, side side, side, front, back, side, front, side, back, side front, back..' that was all the commands of the game...
It was entertaining for everyone as the audience had fun performing the commands.. shaking their butts to the sides, front and also back!

OK.. after that, we got to the last division's presentation... Campus Life & Public Relations (CLPR).. by Vijay, Gretchel, Joanna & Azie...
the presentation started off with a simple slideshow about the division.... and then, two songs performed by Azie alone with her keyboard... 'My Immortal' & 'I Will Survive'..
And then, came in the CV! Dance Group... who danced to 'Hey Mama' by Black Eyed Peas...
And then followed immediately was the CV! Cheerleading Team, cheering to the 'Conga Song'...
After that, re-introduction of the division EXCO members.. and then it was over...

Next up, the launching of the CV! Buddy Program... done by VJ & KC...
Remember us distributing everyone into different groups according to the alphabets?
well, we had actually distributed everyone into 22 different groups... and each group was to be taken care of by every 22 EXCO members.... these groups would be our Buddy group...
As a Buddy, we were to check on our buddies on their life in Curtin and try to help them in any way possible (not including financially, though, all right? We ourselves face that problem...)
not only that, we, EXCO members, were to inform our buddies of any CV! activities and then train them for certain activities, such as campus tour...

I got two buddies now... Chin Siaw Peng & Eddie Sue....
Hope to get to know them better throughout their lives and my own in Curtin...

After knowing, our buddies, we then went for a break... lgith refreshments had been prepared at the cafeteria...
as we ate and drank, we were supposed to get to know our buddies during this time... as later, when we go back inside, one person from each group will be questioned to see if they do know their buddy...
There were those who was able to answer the question correctly... (one in particular was a pure guess.. Ming Siang... Bay's zodiac sign...)
but there were MORE of those who didn't and couldn't.... and they were given a penalty...
it was an easy punishment.. they were asked to dance in front of everyone to 'Yeah' by Usher...

after that... everyone was led back to their seats and then there was another performance by Azie.. along with Nichalos, playing the guitar & Jimmy as the male vocalist...
Together, Azie & Jimmy sang 'Broken' (originally sang by Seether & Amy Lee of Evanescense)
After that, we concluded the night with some more dances, one in particular, our favorite... the Jungle Song...

And during this time I had to go.... I was following Roger & Gia Rong and they had to go at the time...
I was able to get permission to go from Abel and so I went off...
Why I was following Roger? simple... tomorrow morning, Lish will be at the Miri Airport.. to fly off to Kuala Lumpur to further her studies...
And he invited me to join him.. but it'll be difficult for him to pick me up tomorrow morning, so decided that I stay overnight at his house...
I was able to convince my mother to let me to, that evening... and so, there I go...
I was sad to leave the guys so early... but after a while of thinking, I convinced myself that this time, I wont' be selfish and do this for Roger... honestly.. he needed me to join him tomorrow morning...
Arrived back home to get some clothes and then headed to Roger's house..
there, got to shower... man... was so hungry... but had nothing to eat... sheesh...
anyway... slept in Roger's room for what... four hours or so? or less even??
had to wake up at 5am cause Lish would be at the airport by latest 5.30am...
We slept some time after midnight.. but even as we were trying to sleep, we were talking there.. about a lot of things....

Anyway.... I'll just go to when we woke up...
I changed my clothings and then waited for Roger to get ready...
some time later, we then headed off to the airport... and got to meet with Lish... plus some other friends of theirs...
Lish and some of her friends went off after 6am... about 6.30 maybe...
after that, Roger & I headed back to his place.... there, rested til 7.. before we headed to 2020 for breakfast...
there, we talked quite some more... hahha... simple yet memorable moments...
after that, he sent me back home...

I had a meeting with some of the other members of CUSP (Curtin United Students' Party)... if you recall, last week I had a meeting with this group... and as a reminder, this group is one of the parties running for Student Council this year...
the other party confirmed was CSU, with Jasmair as the president.. haha!
no further information about them from me...

Anyway.... got home... had to wait for my brother to ask him if he was going to use the car today... cause I was planning to drive to campus...
He woke up by 9.30am.. and I got to drive for today.. so nearly immediately went off.... meeting was at 10... and as you should know.. it's nearly a half-an-hour trip from my place to Curtin...
but to be precise.. the meeting was not on campus.... so the trip was shorter than supposed to be...
Present for the meeting were Benet (Of course), Kimmy, Yap, Snow Jae, Pier, Serena, Bay (late though..), Voon Yiew Ting, Dian & Ling....
Benet told us of the election schedule and we all discussed about our campaigning plans...
after all of that, we then went off for lunch.... at Lou Bin Tang...

after lunch there, we all headed on home...
haha.. darn it man, as I was driving, I was CONSTANTLY forcing myself to stay alert.... so hard to concentrate on the road with such sleepy eyes... man.. scary experience! just couldn't think how glad I would be to reach home finally!
which I did, safely too....
home.... I slept... I slept for hours... in fact.. I slept for the rest of the afternoon.. hahah!
I slept from like... after 1pm.. all the way until nearly 6pm...
had my dinner.... showered... and then came online....

sigh... it's been another memorable week and more....
so glad to have such a life.....

Morning, I catched up on my online stuffs.... the things that I usually do whenever online...
when before noon, then I got back to working on that slide presentation for Abel... on past activities of CV! since 2002....
took me the whole day but still not yet done...
evening time, had to go to a dinner with my family and with Jonathan's family.. including his Caucasian grandparents...
never met them before til that evening... and quite an interesting pair in my view...

Dinner was over by 8.30pm and I headed home first to work more on the slides...
worked til late and still not done... also got to e-mail Abel a preview of it... man.. so much work...
that night I felt so stressed that I just had to chat with someone on MSN... and Lish was there, at least, enough to entertain me... thank you...

Came to Curtin early in the morning thanks to Iqbal... my only class was in the afternoon...
Spent my time trying to work more on the slide presentation... deadline was in two days, max... and I was only halfway through...
worked til lunchtime when I left for cafeteria...
ate lunch and then soon headed for my Writing & Research Skills 062 class....
Ms. Oktavia then announced that she'll be switching classes with another lecturer... thus meaning that a new lecturer will be teaching us by next week... wanna take a guess who?
the lecturer that had taught me Academic English 061 last semester.. Ms. Anita!!

After class, joined my friends at the CV booth at the cafeteria...
stuck around for a little... ate dinner... very light...
then that night had cheerleading practise... for the coming promotions of the CV! Welcoming Gathering happening this Thursday and a cheerleading performance for the gathering itself... Practised and practised til late night...
After that, we were done and some had already gone on home... not for me...
I still had work to take care of... namely the slide presentation and the CV notice board... sigh...
thankfully, that evening, Iqbal & Lis had already bought the materials for the board...
I was able to convince my mother, thankfully, to stay overnight so that I could finish my work...
Dropped off the materials back at Curtin and then Iqbal sent me back home.. so that I could have a shower and bring what I needed for the next day.... namely clothes and books...

back home.. I showered while Iqbal ate and had a chat with my mother...
showered... I ate a little as well... before we moved on back to Curtin...
there, we worked together on the CV! Notice board... Abel was able to join us and help as well...

Guess what? We finish the notice board one hour or so later and it was nearly 1.30am...
After that, Iqbal & I headed back to his place...
I wasn't plannning on sleeping that morning until I was done with the slide presentation...
Iqbal slept.. he needed it... I, on the other hand, burned the midnight lamp til every drop of the oil were used up... (figure of speech)
I worked for hours.... and guess what time I was actually done and gone to sleep...?
after 6 in the morning...
and I woke up at after 8.30am.... which is like.... approximately two & a half hours of sleep... but whatever...
showered and got ready for school...
Iqbal & I arrived at Curtin before 10am... set up the CV Booth...
ate breakfast and then soon I had to go for class.... after class... afternoon.. I had to join with some of the girls for the promoting of the gathering this Thursday...
And in front of A LOT of people, I did a mistake and embarrassed everyone... sigh.. SO sorry girls...

after that, I had trouble handing up my homework to a particular lecturer..
but in the end, after hours of persistence and determination, was finally able to get that work done... then went for class....
after class... join back at the cafeteria...
that evening, there was a simple meeting amongst some of the members, together with Abel and as the day began to enter night... we were done and we went our separate ways...
Just to get back together at Lou Bin Tang for dinner...
With no one who can send me back home that night, I phoned back home for a transport...
I had initially thought that I wouldn't have much work to do... but when afterAbel checked out the slide presentation... turned out I had some work to take care of...
so didn't go back early that night.. and went back late again... sigh... thanks, Abel, for sending me back...
And yeah.. I was able to edit the whole presentation to suit the computers on campus.. and it looked ok for the time being... Abel was also able to choose a suitable song for the slideshow..
I couldn't wait for the other members of CV to have a look at the sldieshow tomorrow... but then again.. I had a little of fear too.. on what they might think of it... I especially fear that they might not like it at all... but I had NEVER anticipated the outcome of its debut to the others the next night...

Morning, came early to campus with my brother...
Nothing much happened really...
Class... some more work to take care of.... namely the presentation of my division during the gathering...
classes some more and then was done...
that evening, join the others at the CV! Booth, close it up... and then headed for the Council Meeting Room.... the second formal meeting for all CV! EXCO members since the one at Annie's...
Meeting proceeded... with a few members unable to made it cause of classes...
so much problem I had to take care of... which included officially apologizing to everyone on my embarassing mistake the other day...

Anyway.... the meeting lasted for quite some time... before finally we were done there.. but then we had to rehearse a little at the Lecture Theater for the gathering, that was going to be held the next night!!
We proceeded according to the schedule... Krishna did good with his flash introduction of CV...
and then soon.. Abel finally showed the slideshow of CV!'s past activities for everyone to see...
I noticed that Abel had some details edited... but most of it were still the same... what I had did... and it looked great... together with the music.. it was a... i just don't know the word for it.. moving?
besides that, I was surprised... everyone was... enjoying the slideshow.... and at the end of it... I couldn't believe that some of them actually came to hug me like... congratulating me on a job well done... including Abel...
I was so.. moved... I just went to the side of the lecture theater... and sat down... my emotion was beginning to surface itself... but it wasn't too apparent, as I tried to get back to work..
but... I just couldn't hold it.. standing there, waiting to do my practise... I just couldn't hold it... I sat down on the floor... isolating myself from everyone again...

and I cried....... I really.. cried.... I was so... glad.... so... relieved...... with all the stress and pressure and problems along the way to do my part of work... and now.. this...
oh my god I just cried... when Iqbal came over.. I was losing it...
when ABEL came over and sat beside me... I just had to let it out....
I cried badly... and soon, KC pulled me up and escorted me to the washroom... he told me to wash my face.... and then come back when I'm done....
I continued crying some more at the washroom... As I cried I wash my face... I tried to just let it all out there....
took me quite a while.. just when I was about to be done crying there... I heard someone coming and Abel entered the washroom...
He chatted with me for a while there... and soon enough, we headed back to the lecture theater...
there, I tried to calm myself... they actually skipped my division's presentation and continued with the others' first.. while waiting for me to be ready...
I tried to calm myself and just be back to normal... but couldn't and I cried some more again....

after a long while.. I was able to pull myself back to normal and went on with the rehearsal...
in the end, I did my division's presentation.. and it wasn't good.. I completely had forgotten how I was going to talk....
definitely need to work on my speech the next day... since I'll only have one hour of class tomorrow in the afternoon...
had a little trouble finding a ride back home... but in the end, Sara offered to help..
and I got home by midnight...


Today.. Thursday... tonight is the gathering... can't wait for that...
but for now.. need to work on my speech...
wait for my update soon!

Man.. been busybusybusy...

Sigh... four consecutive days and no update..... expect yet ANOTHER long blog entry...

Morning, arrived on campus by 8.30am... to meet up with Abel & some of the CV members, Iqbal, VJ, KC & Kimmy...
That morning, Form 4 & 5 students from St. John - KB, Brunei were coming to Curtin...
The students arrived by bus and their teachers' car after 10.30am...
They were then led to the Council Meeting Room, which is at the first floor of the admin. building... (the meeting room that we, CV, sometimes get to use for our meetings)
Our Student Recruitment Officer (forgot name) did a presentation to them, introducing Curtin to them and all the fees stuffs....
somewhere during this time, Nadia & Serena got to join us to help out as well...
then Abel did his motivation talk that was the main agenda of the visit... a motivation talk to motivate them to study and work hard and all that...
After the talk was done, there was brief period of time dedicated for us, CV members as university students to interact with the students, to share our university experiences with them...
After that, we gave them a tour around campus... the usual style...
and then they went off in their bus... headed for town to continue on with their tour of Miri itself..

Haha... to tell you the truth.. this day, I skipped a class for these students...
Writing & Research Skill 062.... which started at 10.30am...
after the students were gone, we all headed for lunch at the cafeteria...
there, I met up with my classmate and he told me just as I had suspected... that day's class was just paraphrasing.... something I am doing fine with... or can improve on my own... (I believe...)
anyway.. had my lunch... and then just stayed there and just chatted...
today I felt better compared to some time ago when I was feeling less than energetic... reason why feeling better is probably cause got to be doing what I enjoy doing.. working with CV and Abel.....

Soon, by 2pm (I can still remember), I headed off to the next class venue for the next class, Engineering Math 062, which was an hour later...
There, I actually planned to do my homework... but instead, got online on the computer instead.. haha...
got through class.. more homework added.. and then went out...
during class, I suddenly received a SMS from Abel to meet him at the new Quiet Reading Room at the library for a CV meeting..
it was over half an hour later that I actually replied his SMS... I asked him if I was still in time to go for the meeting...
while waiting for his reply... got to chat a little with some of the new students at the cafeteria..
once I got the reply, I ran off to meet with Abel... his reply was just 'Just come..'
there, saw Iqbal, Abel, Snow Jae & Serena.... at the other side of the room....
Sat down with them while waiting for some more of the other CV members...

When some of the others (Bay, Darryl & VJ were the only ones that were able to make it to the imprompotu meeting) did arrive, this was where a new chapter opened for me... I would take it... a new chapter in my life in Curtin Volunteers and practically my life in Curtin... or even... my life itself...
in this meeting, Abel announced that he has already handpicked the board of committee members of CV, with the comments and suggections of the two CV Presidents, Serena & Snow Jae...
Let me explain a little... there are SIX main positions... 2 Presidents, 1 Vice-President (Bay), Secretary 1 & 2 (Nadia & Navodi), and Treasurer (Kimmy)...
And then, after that, is FOUR different divisions... Social & Community Service (SCS), Professional Advancement (PA), Campus Life & Public Relations (CLPR), and Administration & Publicity (AP)...
And guess what.. I was given the position as head..... Head of AP!!!
my goodness.. hey, the position would look good on my testimony/resume and all.. but then it is going to be hard work for me.... ( X_X )
PA was headed by Darryl..... CLPR by VJ... the head of SCS was not yet to be confirmed however, due to some internal problems...
Besides that, we discussed further more of our coming CV gathering... which is meant for ALL CV members, new and old...

After the meeting was done, we went to Sultana to have dinner... the ones that were able to make it for this were me, Abel, Iqbal, Serena & Bay...
We had dinner there, got to talk a lot... Abel met up with some old friends... Bay had to go off to a Rotaract meeting... got to meet with some of Azie's aunts there as well...
they came to check out the new band that was performing at Cheerie Berries (CB)... Abel & the rest of us got inside CB a little.. as Abel got to chat with someone there.. (who I actually don't know but suspect is someone VERY familiar with the club..)
after that, we moved to Desserts for some 'stress relieving time'...
Had ice-cream... Abel smsed to tease some of those that were not there...
besides that, Abel was actually planning to check out the new band as well... and we got to contact with some of our usual gang...
after some contacting here and there, finally decided not to go with the plan as Abel didn't want to have a small group to go in... and also the fact that most of us were very tired....

Headed home after that, and that ends the day...

Morning, I came to campus early with my brother and stuck around cafeteria a little...
soon enough, I had to go to the Physics Lab for my class..
After class, came out and hung around cafeteria again....
hung around there for most of my time.. as nothing else to do.. besides chatting with friends...
then one hour of Chemistry class at 3pm..
after that, came back to the cafeteria to 'waste time'...

that night, Abel was planning for a CV meeting at Desserts...
but it was still evening time... after a while... everyone was gone already...
luckily, I was able to join Abel up at his office space... on one condition, that I do my study...
so there, I just do my Math homework... as I did, Abel & I were talking on CV... and he told me further more about my division's work...
man... and to think at the time it wasn't even the whole of it yet....

some time later, Iqbal & Serena came... and then we moved on to Annie's Little Kitchen....
There, we had our dinner.. joined by Kimmy, Sara & Darryl...
some others were suppose to join, but can't make it for the dinner... but hopefully will be joining for the meeting later at Desserts..
anyway.... we had fun while eating at Annie's.... haha.. good laughs....
Most of us were surprised at the end of dinner.. when we were about to go... We were surprised when we found out that our meals had been paid.... by Darryl!?!
Really... we did not detect him settling the bills for all of us! but thank you very much, Darryl!!

Desserts... immediately got out my Math homework and worked to finish them...
I wasn't the only one.. some of the others were also taking a look at their homework...
but at the same time, Abel was talking with everyone on the CV stuffs.... oh and by the way, VJ was able to join us that night... unfortunately, Bay & Snow couldn't..
we discussed.. enjoyed ice-cream... did our homework... and soon, it was coming to midnight...
Headed home and that night ended...


Friday, 18 March, 2005
Morning, I actually woke up late.... woke up at 7.30am and was so shock that I kept looking at the different clocks, but true enough.... my class was at 8am!
I showered and then just drove to campus without breakfast.... reached campus at 8am and then rushed to the classroom!
Thankfully I wasn't too late and quickly joined in my Physics tutorial...
Two hours later, got out for a half-hour break before my next class... ate something light for my breakfast... also, I went to my car to put my (darn heavy) THICK Physics Textbook... and then got out my labcoat and goggles... honestly... I despise my goggles.. they are annoyingly pathetic and its rim can cut into my skin very easily!!!
anyway... then 'wasted the rest of my break' back at the cafeteria... before finally going to the Chemistry laboratory....
two hours later, got out... went to my car to place my labcoat and goggles and then came back to the cafeteria for some more... 'time-wasting'... got to do that with Abel, Oja, Kimmy, Navodi, Oscar, Lis, Nadia & some more others...

However, really, I wasn't just throwing away my afternoon just like that... that afternoon I was supposed to meet up with my division members and also Serena & the two secretaries, Nadia & Navodi...
We decided to have the meeting at the Quiet Reading Room in the library, cause of the smoky haze that was outside...
My division members included Iqbal, Lis & Krishna and by the end of this week, after the CV Gathering, will be welcoming in THREE new members from amongst the new students.... can wait for that...
anyway.. on with the meeting, we discussed on some agendas that our division had to take care off...
we also discussed on who we were gonna welcome into our team...
we were done about an hour later... and so some of us had to go somewhere, while the rest of us headed for the cafeteria...
got to join up with Abel there... and two new students who needed a ride back to Curtin Village... and then Snow Jae joined us after some time of not seeing her...
then we made a move and left.... I followed Iqbal in his car, to Curtin Village to drop off Navodi and the new student and then went to drop off Serena at her house before we stopped at Iqbal's house...
there, got into some of our division's work... before soon VJ came over....
he introduced us to a little of his division's work and result.... which was good...
soon enough it was nearing 8pm.. VJ left with Renee & Dian... and then Iqbal & I headed for Boulevard for some dinner....
decided on either Sugar Bun or KFC... since he doesn't enjoy KFC.. and I prefer it... decided that we take away from each, me KFC, he Sugar Bun...
ate together and then headed off... had more work to take care of with Abel..

Picked up Serena and then we joined Abel up at his office space...
there, met up with VJ as well.... did some work... before we proceeded to the next plan of the night... Cheerie Berries (CB)...
First, went to Curtin Village to pick up some of the gang... then picked up some more at Senadin....
then arrived at Al Fresco first for some eating... I however couldn't enjoy the night... something was terribly bothering my mind...
soon when everyone was done eating, they proceeded to CB... I however, called it the night and headed home...

Morning, woke up at 8.30am...
showered.... ate breakfast..... gone online for a while...
5am this morning, Iqbal left a message in my phone to give him a morning call at 11.20am...
after I had called him up, I headed off to my mother's office... made some photocopies of a newspaper clipping...
and then drove to campus... there met up with the other CV members, Iqbal, VJ, Sara, Kimmy, Navodi, Serena, Bay, Joanna, Izzah & Nadia...
Once Abel was ready, we headed off for Annie's Little Kitchen.. where we'll be having our officially FIRST CV Executive Committee (EXCO) Meeting... unfortunately, 3 out of 21 of the EXCO members were not able to make it.. Gretchel, Azie & Fiona....

Oh, by the way, remember the four divisions of CV? I doubt it... let me recap...

Social & Community Services (SCS) Division ~ now headed by Izzah, working with Amos & Giegel
Professional Advancement (PA) Division ~ headed by Darryl, working with KC, Sara & Fiona
Campus Life & Public Relations (CLPR) Divison ~ headed by VJ, working with Gretchel, Joanna & Azie
Administration & Publicity (AP) Division ~ headed by me, working with Iqbal, Lis & Krishna

At Annie's, we ate a buffet lunch.... (great food) and then about an hour later, we had our meeting...
Abel started off the meeting with welcoming regards to all present and briefed us on some of the details that all of us EXCO members will have to cover on...
then we proceeded to introducing the four divisions to everyone and some of the future activites covered by each...
then was the briefing of some of the plan of work from each division....
After the meeting was done, we had a group photo... once that done, we all had to move... Annie had to close the shop and some of us had to go for a Student Council Party Meeting....
The rest of the EXCO members will be continuing the meeting on campus... while me, Bay, Snow Jae, Serena & Kimmy had to go meet up with Benet & others at Lou Bin Tang...
there, we all proceeded to another location, which I believe I won't disclose....
There, we had our meeting....

OK.. allow me to explain...
The Student Council body is made through elections done by the students.. following the democracy system...
This group, now led by Benet & advisor, our ex-Student Council president, Raymond Ting... is CUSP, Curtin United Students' Party...
Members included a whole mix of representatives... CV, Rotaract, Leo, Noizy Minority, & some more...
first off, Benet introduced/reminded all members on how the election period is gonna be...
and then, we were told of some of the strategies on rounding up votes to win the elections....
we were all given our tasks to fulfill... and more than an hour later, we were done...

however, the CV work was not over... Bay couldn't join... but me, Snow, Serena & Kimmy headed to join the others at the VIP Lounge on the first floor of the admin. building...
Upon entering, we were greeted with a messy look as everyone was busy with their own work and assigments...
I was briefed by my division members on what I am to work on....
We all continued to work there for some more... Then, it was time to go on home.....
I sent off Kimmy, Snow Jae & Joanna... before heading home...

That night, I had planned to work on the flyer for the CV Welcoming Gathering, coming this Thursday...
Iqbal was able to come over to my house to deliver the CV Photo Archives.. and then we were able to do the flyer quickly enough...

Thus.. that should end my blog entry... today is Sunday and I still have work to work on...
hopefully will be able to do the update on this coming week...
do expect more update on that...

Morning got to campus as normal...
spent my few hours at the cafeteria... hanging with friends... mainly Kimmy & Michelle...
then came Physics class at 11am...
but it was over quick in one hour... and then got to stick around the cafeteria some more...

Haha... coming out of the class... found out my phone just died on me... no more battery... haha...
Hung around the cafeteria some more... this time. mainly with Hani, Brit, Iqbal, Lis & many occassional others....
spent time there til 3pm... which was Chemistry tutorial...
one hour later, immediately had to go to Maths Lecture... which the venue happened to be like the other side of campus... haha.. but not too far though.. don't mistaken...
After that, came out, immediately met up with my bro and then headed home...

Been thinking... I've been lacking in exercise...
been thinking to join the gym, since I've been hanging around campus so often...
It's already middle of this month.... maybe I'll pay 'per entry' for the time being.. til next month then I pay 'per month'...
but haven't decided yet.. need to work on my transport home first... before deciding...

Speaking of working out... Wushu.. I've been not practising it for a VERY VERY long time....
and I am STILL thinking about making that club on campus... will need my uncle's help on that....
ask for help on what I may need to do...

What to think? I don't know...

Hmm.. don't know what to say about today leh....

cooked my own fast noodle at 10am... arrived on campus at 11am...
class was at 1pm.. so just hung around cafeteria again.... with friends and all...

Class was over two hours later..
Came out to meet with friends again at the cafeteria...

Today... there was a little trouble of transport back home...
My brother told me he'll be going back home late at night...
so asked Iqbal for help..... but he'll be driving off soon... and will be coming back for rugby practise and then gym by 5.30 til 7pm... if I wanna go soon, so will need to go long before then...
but I felt like sticking around longer.. so deciding to follow him after 7pm...

Stuck around the campus longer... got to hang with Gretchel, Nadia, Lis, Nichalos, Izzah, Navodi, Fiona, Oscar & some more others...
by 6pm... everyone had to go off to do something... so I headed to the computer lab...
got to join up with Eric.. and so just joined him to play some online games on Neopet... just for fun...
then suddenly, my brother called me and told me that he'll be going back... so headed home with him.....
so, messaged Iqbal about it and then got home earlier...

sigh... throughout the trip home, I've been thinking about something...
man.. feels like as if 'God' is just playing with me... sigh... don't know what to decide on... sigh...

Early morning, woke up to my mobile phone alarm...
Got ready for work at the restaurant again... Went there together with my brother...
was quick to start work after 8.40am or so....
Initially, work was all right... not too many people...
but then as the hours went by... things got real busy and I was getting quite fed up too...
sheesh... with so many customers... it just frustrates me when a customer gets annoyed by the simplest things I do... sheesh....
Sigh... and those kids running around are annoying.. hate to say.... sheesh....

Thankfully.. customers were finally gone in the afternoon...
Worked til 3pm or so before heading home..
showered and then came online....
Nothing much will happen today I suppose...
sigh... tomorrow, my semester REALLY begins.... sigh...
but on the bright side... get to be with my friends again! Hehe!

Yeah.... stratch some of the things I said before... more happened today...
Evening time... just as dinner was coming closer, Iqbal suddenly called me and invited me to join him and a few others to eat out...
Got to talk to my mother and she allowed me to go out.....

So got to join Iqbal, VJ, Nadia & Lis at Desserts....
There, we just talked while enjoying a little of ice-cream....
Nadia went off first cause she couldn't stay any longer...
Lis had to do something back at her hostel on campus.... so Iqbal sent her off... accompanied by me & VJ...
After leaving her off at the hostel, the three of us then went to Annie's Little Kitchen for dinner...
There, sigh, was so shocked to see the pricings.. my goodness.... practically double the usual price....
but, with all the comments saying that the food is nice... I agreed to it anyway...
the food were nice..... especially cause of the sauce.... probably the secret....
While eating, we just enjoyed some good laughs.... Iqbal was getting high on sugar.. (suspicious stare)
HAhaha... it was a fun time...

Would've Abel join us, but we weren't able to contact him until finally he contacted Iqbal when we were just about to leave Annie's Little Kitchen...
Nothing more happened from there and I was sent back home by Iqbal & VJ....
And that is all for today.....
Can't wait for tomorrow... get to join up with my fun gang again.... Hehe! ^_^

I love this picture... it's so nice...
Yesterday was a lovely day for me... but there were some painful bumps on the road near the end of it....

Morning, I drove to campus for my Physics 062 class that starts at 8am..
Well... being the first and only class to attend, I was able to keep up with today's lecture... which was easy, in my view....
Class finished one and a half hour later... and I just went to the cafeteria to 'waste my time'...
No homework to do... Still uncertain of my plans for later...
Lunch I should be going out with Roger & others to eat and then go for badminton and then join Nellie for her birthday event!!
So, I was supposed to wait for them to know further of our plan that afternoon... and thought to do that at the cafeteria...

Got to hang with some of my dear friends... and when lunchtime, Abel messaged to have a gathering of his close family members to just "do some catching up".....
so there was me, Navodi, Kimmy, Snow Jae, KC, Iqbal, Lis, Nadia & Fiona there... others couldn't make it, I guess...
got to meet up with Roger & the rest around noon time... and was able to make plans....
and after 1pm, I had to go...

Firstly, picked up Kimmy, Navodi & Fiona to their house at Curtin Village (not CV)... I left my Nokia HP charger at their place since that night when we were doing those bookmarks for CV....
There... the girls got changed and then I sent them to Bintang Plaza / Parkson.... then drove back home, cause my brother needed to use the car by 2pm....
Made it on time... contacted Roger.. and half an hour later, he came to my house and picked me to go badminton at our usual place.... (not the one at Pujut)
Played some badminton with Adrian, Kevin and two others, who I still don't know the names...
after that, went to my home and then Roger's house to get our slippers before heading to Nellie's condominium....
There, got to swim... it's been a VERY long time since I swam.. and with my lack of exercise, I was quickly winded as swimming...
plus there, it was SO windy!! I was feeling the wind on my back... with only my head out of the water!!! And Roger was practically shivering that he just didn't want to stop swimming so that he wouldn't feel cold!
Adrian was there to swim with us as well...
We all swam for an hour and a half or so, before we stopped.. it was just TOO COLD!! And.... water was filling up my empty stomach.. and that ain't comfortable.... no sirree!

After the swim, showered and got change our shirt there and then headed to Nellie's house....
there, began immediately the barbecue.. starting off the charcoal fire....
it was long and kind of difficult but we managed to lighten the fire soon enough....
Trying to get the fire to grow and last, we then started to cook the chicken wings... to be honest, this is the vey first time I participated to cook in a barbecue...
We didn't do too well with our cooking.. and we ended up with MORE charred chicken wings than we would've liked.. hahah! thankfully, only the skin....
As a few of us were cooking, we realised that what we cooked we quickly eaten by the others... who did not participate at all in the barbecue...
So towards the end, we finally decided to be selfish and just cook for ourselves... muahahaha!
It was fun though... hahaha!
Quite a number of us came, by the way.. Me, Roger, Adrian, Guan Thai, his gf (Sorry, forgot name), Dawn Chi, Yih Shan, & many more....

However, something just couldn't stop bothering me.... during lunchtime, near the end, Abel and the others had planned to go for Desserts to have some time of fun....
I finally was able to get help from Yih Shan who could drive me there....
too bad lah... actually later that night, they were all planning to watch the Thai movie "Shutter".... and I was particularly interested with that movie....
Anyway, accompanied by Dawn Chi and another friend (don't know name), I was able to make it to Desserts by 10pm....
There, I joined up with Abel, Iqbal, VJ, Kimmy, Navodi, Lis, Ouja (Correct spelling??), Ovie & Oscar... the last three are some of the new students we were able to befriend....
Hahaha.. we had fun just talking there... enjoying each other's company... hahaha....
hmm... about 11pm... Iqbal then had to send back some of them... VJ, Ovie & Lis...
Spending a little more time there, we then moved on to Sultana.... there, got to eat a little (some of us) and drink.. soon Iqbal joined us again...
Soon, we then moved on to Cheerie Berries (CB).... this makes it the SECOND time that I went clubbing with them... and at CB...
For some reason, Iqbal wasn't in the mood to join.. so most of the time, he was outside, eating some nasi lemak.... while the rest of us were inside....
Enjoyed the dancing and the music inside before we finally came out for a breather after 2pm....
that was the time that I headed home, sent by Iqbal...
sigh... to be honest, (As I told some of them today) I was sad to have to leave... how I SO wish that I can just spend my time as I wish without the hassle of my mother's protective nature.....
It's good and all... but... sigh...... don't know lah....

Slept this morning at 2.30... and then woke up today at NOON!!!
and that was because suddenly Ravi called me, mistakening my number was Krishna's and asked me to SMS him the number....
after I did, I then woke up..... ate lunch... and then came online and did all this blogging....
more blogging to come for CV's blogspot... upon Abel's request....
I feel like eating something... : p

Ah... as the title implied.... it was quite a good day for me... definitely better than yesterday..

Early morning, me, my bro & my mother went to the temple to visit my father...
did the usual things and in half an hour we were gone...
about an hour later, me and my brother headed for Curtin... which was 9am..
arrived to campus, came by the bookshop... when I saw some people queueing up there, I just realised that today I was supposed to get my new books... but I didn't know what book I was supposed to get...
So, headed straight to a computer lab and looked the book list up at the Curtin website..
noted down what I was supposed to get, which was only two, both Chemistry related...
then headed straight to the bookshop, got my queue number and just waited... as I did, I listened to my MP3 player and just did my Math homework from yesterday...
boy was it so uncomfortable to do that sitting on the floor without any actually surface to write on, besides my legs and my file...
after a while (half an hour?) then it came to my turn and I went in...
onyl got one of the two books I was supposed to get... the other was not available at the moment.. sigh...
I'll need to bring my Physics textbook to get an updated stamp so that I can get a refund... maybe next week lah when I have time in the morning...

Then headed to the cafeteria... got to hang with more friends, including Roger, Adrian, Kevin, Guan Thai, Adrian Foo, Gia Rong, Brit, V, Navodi & many more...
sigh.. so thankful to have friends like them...
Anyway... isolated myself from all of them for a while to finish up my homework...
Was finally done when nearing noon.... and immediately went to buy lunch...
as I was eating, then Roger called me.... which then hit me! I was supposed to be going out with him and the others by noon.. out to eat and then get the work salary!!
Finish my meal quickly and then went with them...

We, me, Adrian, Gia Rong & Roger, went to 2020 to eat.... I just drank there..
after that, went to Prime College to mainly hang around... Roger initially wanted to get his refund.. but then we just mainly 'wasted our time' there...
anyway... less than an hour there, then headed to Grand Palace Hotel to get the salary, together with Roger....
First he got his.. then I got mine and my brother's...
then immediately headed back to Curtin.. I have class in the next (less than) half an hour!!

Made it in time.. and got to class... Chemistry 062.. with the same lecturer as last semester... Ms. Lau..
and this lecture was only one hour... my whole day today and I only had ONE class... and it is only for ONE hour... hahaha! AMAZING, ain't it!!?
Class over... hung around cafeteria....
Ravi was around... visiting Miri I supposed...
He left Curtin last semester... and I first met him over a year ago during Curtin Summer Camp 2003 - Discover Your Talent... he was the Mentor of my group... something like SOAR Advisors to the new students of O-Week...
Hung around him for a while, before he went off... and I just hung around some more at teh cafeteria...
Then shortly after 5pm.. then went home with my brother...

Sigh... today's quite a fine day, honestly to say...
Glad to have such a day... haha....

Day of Much Heavy Downs and Little Grateful Ups

Sigh.... as the title suggests... today wasn't too good a day...

Morning,
As driving to campus, the car was going low on diesel... and darn.. had no luck to find a petrol station with diesel..... for your information, me nad my brother went to FOUR petrol stations and all of them had no diesel...
No choice but to just go to campus anyway...
Spent my free time at the cafeteria, doing my Math work... man.. so much... But at least, it wasn't too difficult...
Spent most of my time with my homework and my MP3 player alone... before an hour later then some of my friends joined me... Krishna, Hari, Amos, Albert & some others...
haha.. though I felt lonely.. with them around, I found myself having a hard time concentrating on my work.. hahaha!
Was still able to do a bit more of the work, but just found myself distracted by them too much, so just thought to wander around the (beginning to be crowded) cafeteria for a little... just to get myself a little rest from all that Maths work...
Not before long, it was already time to go to class... Writing & Research Skills 062...
Today, Ms. Okta had us to write an essay... to see our style of essay writing and all that sort of thing...
I was out of the class, I think, more than half an hour earlier....

After coming out, returned to the cafeteria again... sigh... been sticking around the cafeteria quite often these days...
Spent my time there with some of my friends... sigh.. what would life in Curtin be for me without them...?
Gretchel & Izzah made plans to go watch a movie tonight... I would definitely love to go watch a movie with them and others if any...
told me that they'll see what there was to watch later...
so.. headed for my next class..
Oh, by the way... was finally able to finish my Maths work an hour more before the next class.. which happened to be Engineering Maths 062...
Was able to hand up my work.. but then more work were given to us... sigh.. at least, we have one week's time to finsih it.. no problem...

Coming out of the classroom, I hung a little around the cafeteria (again)... got to meet with Izzah who said that, according to Gretchel, the movies tonight were not interesting, so most likely not going out that night... sigh.. too bad....
Anyway.. my brother was able to follow his friend's car back home... so I got to drive back home this time...
but that worries me... the car's low on diesel... and petrol stations all along the way til my house was empty when we checked this morning...
oh well... hopefully they had a refill so mewhere during the day... and thankfully, there practically was...
Was able to get some diesel at the petrol station somewhere in the Senadin area....
there wasn't much cars there.. probably its not-so-busy location helps...
What a relief now that the fuel tank is filled up.. phew...

Sigh.. tonight I should've been working, but then cause of my brother's indecisiveness, I already called in to say that I wouldn't be able to make it... when today proved that I could've... sigh... sad...
well.. that wasn't the only upset for me....
during dinner time, John Mui called me to join him to watch Flight of the Phoenix...
I agreed to join and contacted Gretchel & Izzah to join as well...
Lots of sms here and there... turned out both Gretchel & Izzah had no transport to go to the movies... and John wouldn't be able to pick them up....
Tried to convince my mother to allow me to drive out.... but was sternly declined... sigh....
so decided altogether to not go.. sigh... sad....

Sigh.. I guess my life was needing some downs... balance and all....
anyway... tomorrow, hopefully would be able to go to get my salary from Grand Palace Hotel... with Roger that is....
sigh.... wish me luck....

Another Pleasant Day...

Today's been quite an all right day...

Morning,
Arrived at school with my brother at 8am...
Met up with some of the CV members at the cafeteria.. Lis, Navodi, Fiona, Kimmy & Nadia...
Later on some of us CV members, as well as the Student Council members (who are practically working overtime now) were supposed to help Abel with the welcoming of some important figures who'll be coming for a special function happening today... the Bio Symposium...
honestly, I'm not too sure what this function is about.. basically it involves bio-technology in Sarawak...
Got to welcome a lot of important high figures today.. including the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Curtin Perth... (the guy who welcomes the new students in a video shown during Orientation)
And an other one of those important figures was my uncle.. Datuk Wee Han Wern... hehe...

Anyway... first the important figures were led to some morning refreshments in the Library Reading Room...
After this short refreshment, they were then led to the Lecture Theater where the function was happening...
when all of those high figures were there, we of CV and the Student Council were invited to eat the refreshments at the reading room...WOOHOO!!
The food prepared there were great! Hahaah! Too bad we won't be able to return for lunch later...

Anyway... after that, we went on to our usual schedule...
spent my time around the cafeteria again before finally went for my class at 11am... Physics 062, lecturer Ms. Nwe Nwe Lin...
My goodness lah... the words that came out of her mouth are practically attached together.... I was bored to death in the class that I fell asleep.. sigh... damn it....
Makes me wonder why some of my friends say that she is better than my Physics lecturer of last semester, Mr. Zeya Oo...
Anyway... gone through her class and then more time before my 4pm lecture... which was Engineering Maths 062...
the lecturer is stil the same as last semester's... Ms. Jane Lau... sigh.. haha... at least I know what to expect from her...

Most of my time was spent at the cafeteria again... just hanging with friends... both old and new... haha...
it was great... it's like a rejuvenating activity...

Pleasant Day...

OK... when I said I would update on what happened yesterday today.. I was hoping to do it when I was bored at school... but for some reason I just didn't feel like doing it there... no idea why...

OK.. yesterday morning, I came to work, together with my brother....
the other night during the O-Beach Fiesta (O-nite), David called me and asked me to join... it's been over a week since I worked there and thought that I should and so I agreed...
Sigh... it seems to be a pattern now... Early morning, I would feel not in a good mood to work but then as time went by, I would start to feel better..... and eventually, just enjoy my work.... I don't know why...
I would explain cause morning, my mind is still sleepy and is just lazy to operate my whole body....
then as time goes by, my mind slowly woke up before it comes to moderate functioning...
*shrugs*
Anyway... worked from before 9am til after 2.30pm before heading back home... Two weeks I haven't gone to get my money and now there's about over RM100 waiting for me right now... sigh... wonder if I can go get the money this coming Thursday...

When at home, I took my shower and went online... I did some of my usual... some... but I was mainly writing my last blog... the one on last week's Orientation...
man... took such a long time and it wasn't even done by dinner time...
I had to stop for dinner and shower again.. before coming back to finally finish the blog entry hours later!!
sigh.... this coming Wednesday night, waiter job again... sigh.. gonna be about RM120 waiting for me then...


today... spent my nearly my whole day at Curtin...

Morning, woke up and ate and showered... got to campus by 11am and was just spending my time at the cafeteria... looking for my friends, amongst the old and the new students...
It was a pleasant day for me...
Just arrived there and immediately I encountered one of the new students who smiled in greeting to me...
though, honestly, I don't know who he was....

Anyway... today, I only had ONE class for the whole day, which is at 1pm.. Writing & Research Skills 062... and according to the timetable, the lecturer was Ms. Jean...
After spending much time at the cafeteria... I headed for class...
sigh... most of my classmates of last semester had joined the other tutorial group, Group B, while I'm in Group A.... oh well...
In class... was surprised to encounter Ms. Oktavia instead... she had swapped classes with Ms. Jean and will be taking care of our classes from then and onwards.... She's an all right lecturer...
Class ended earlier today, since it was mainly just introduction to one another...
then spent most of my time at the cafeteria again... looking around for friends and all....
had a splendid time just hanging with friends.... until 6.30pm, which is when I followed my brother back home...

Tomorrow morning, gonna be helping Abel with the welcoming of some important people, including the Chief Minister for the Bio Symposium happening tomorrow... together with other members of CV...
can't wait for tomorrow....

A Month... no! A Week of Much Memories!!

Man!! How long has I not gone online!?
This is gonna be one HECK of a LONG blog entry!! Trust me on this one... ONE WEEK of no update!!
but trust me... if you've been following my blogs, you'd want to read it til the end....

Since Sunday kah? No eh... Sunday was a bored day... morning.. no work...
afternoon... I recall I got go out boh.. but what is it that happened ah?? seemed like weeks ago leh!!
Ah yes!! Remember! My brother was working, so he drove to work.. and then that afternoon, Abel messaged me asking me to go out and lunch with him and others...
Got permission from my mother... and so got ready to go out!

Who came to pick me up? Iqbal!! Yes... he's back in Miri now...
Inside his car was Abel & Serena as well... went out to Bintang Plaza (Parkson) and ate at McDonald...
while there, got to meet up with one new student, Richie (spelling?) & also Gretchel & Izzah...
We all just went on and on with our usual sort of conversations while Richie was so silent... haha... understandable lah, he's still new to us...
done with eating... planned to watch Constantine... besides me, Gretch & Izzah, all of us haven't watched the movie...
Richie, Gretchel & Izzah who went to join up with Carl who had gone to dye his hair earlier and left us... not joining for the movie...
The four of us, Abel, Iqbal, Serena & I, bought tickets after that, which was 2.15pm or so, when the movie was supposed to be 3.30pm.... one and a half hours to spend...
We just went around, trying to find something to do...
Contrast to our lively conversation at McDonald's.. we were dead tired and yawning away...
finally decided to go and spend a little at the Desserts spot in front of the Giant supermarket and near the Sugar Bun table area...
just spend our time there... as we sat there and enjoying the ice-cream... Gretchel, Izzah, Richie & Carl got to join us for a little again...
talk and talk and talk a lot (chicken wings?).. before they went off...
after soon enough, time for the movie!
Got a good laugh with the gang.... we all enjoyed the movie...

If I'm not mistaken... after that we gone on home... hmm.... No!! It wasn't!
After that... hmm.. can't remember where we went for dinner... but after that, we headed to Kimmy's hosue at Curtin Village... a new housing area built for Curtin students' accomodation reasons...
There, got to enjoy the company of some of the new students who were living there as well, Brit, Josh, Taufik, Carl, V & some others... and of course, Kimmy, Navodi & Fiona... oh man, my memory is low... darn..
all I can remember was that we had lots of fun there...
How I was able to recall all this was cause I was certained that that night when heading home in Iqbal's car.. I got to talk to him about tomorrow's transporting problem.. as it was also when my brother starts his classes....
I was so hoping that me coming to Curtin would not be effected...
anyway... the next day is the first day for the Foundation O-Week.. can't wait to see what'll happen then...

Sigh... as I feared last night... I can't drive to Curtin on this day... got to ask Iqbal to help, though...
sigh... such a great and reliable guy... I had to do morning call to wake him up... and as he said, he came to pick me up... and then went to pick Azie up...
ok... at Curtin, things gotten a little hectic...
ok... let me begin... there at the Student Services... was SO MANY students.. both current and new...
amongst them, I got to meet some familiar faces... from both new and current...
got to recognised some of my young friends from my high school, SMK Chung Hua Miri, amongst the new students...
instantly got to socialise amongst them... try my best to get to know them and let them get to know me...

Things around the Student Services was hectic and so disorganised... naturally...
there was some of us, Student Ambassadors, to get ready to give some of the new students a campus tour....
I, initially, was helping to watch the door... to try and keep things less crowded inside... and also direct the new students that came out of the Student Service, along with their special O-Kits to the awaiting 'campus tour guides', the Student Ambassadors....
Soon enough I realised that most of them are not there anymore... time for me to get a group around...

Soon enough, I got my group ready and did the tour.... it was fun talking with them, despite them not being as friendly towards me as of yet... but then it was all right....
I can still recall how quite detailed my tour was... experienced from what I did on earlier campus tours... and also how disorganised it was.... it was definitely an informal tour for one... undoubtedly....
Anyway.. after this round of tour, did another group of new students... before I was done which was around noon time...
lunch break, hung around the cafeteria with close friends, weather got gloomy, with rain coming down once a while...
went to the Student Services myself to take care of my registration...
as I did.. then turned out one particular new student came late today... a girl by the name of Iby Moh.. I'll explain further why I got to know this girl better than most of the other new student... (HEY! Don't think wrongly!!)
I got to show her around the campus, followed by her mother who accompanied us...
after that, she then went off with her mother and I just joined some of my friends at cafeteria...

Oh yea, I recall during lunch break I got to talk to Abel.. I was surprised that inside the Foundation O-Week schedule, Abel was supposed to be the person-in-charged of the ice-breaking session the next day...
Abel himself was surprised as he was never informed til then...
he had a quick thought and later told me to call for the other CV members for a meeting that evening...
and that's where I am now in this part of the blog.... we had a meeting at the Council Meeting Room at the Admin. Building...
Less than 20 of the main active CV members were present...
We made discussions on what we were gonna do for tomorrow's session... which was main objective in mind was to place the new students into different groups, which in conjunction, works for the group performances in the coming O-nite...
We were able to decide to use the same gimmick we did for the Math Workshop all so long ago last October... using animals and having the new students to make sounds and act like that corresponding animal.. with different species of animals, the new students would be able to find their own 'species' and form one group!
we had some more other discussions, but this was the main one... other discussions would include the activity plans for the final day of orientation.. 'Miri From Dawn to Dusk' is the title of that whole day...

Anyway... after that, if I'm not mistaken, I got to join some of them to go out and eat for dinner at Al Fresco... can't be sure... should be...
This should've been the time when we got reunited with Jenny....

Had Iqbal to pick me and Azie up again...
when at campus, needed to get ready before the ice-breaking session at the Lecture Theatre Foyer...
The turn out of the new students were quite well... as there was quite a large number of them...
We distributed pieces of folded paper with the animal types... and we were able to gather them into groups soon enough... (my group was Wolf... *HOWL!!*)
Speaking of my group... remember that girl from the other day, Iby Moh?
Well, turned out she was amongst my wolves... and with every group meant to pick a leader (and an assistant leader)... she got voted to be one!
After that, every group was to think of a group name and a cheer for the group.... Now with a leader, things went pretty smoothly and more lively amongst my wolves...
anyway.. overall, all of this was achieved in around twenty minutes time... supposedly...
They performed their group cheers to everyone else and with the session over with... they were brought to the next session of the orientation...
MC for this part of the orientation is as last week, Andrew Wong, supposedly the unofficially appointed leader of the Student Ambassador (SA)... by the way he's a Degree student....
this next session is the official welcoming of the new students to the Curtin family...
during this time, Ms Rismaliza, our (inexperienced) Student Affairs Officer informed me to take over for Andrew after this session, cause he'll be having class later.. (Degree students begin their semester during the Foundation O-week)
I agreed to it... amongst SA, the only foundation students are me and Azie... if compared together, I've more experience in this sort of things... and thus, I became the unofficially appointed leader of SA amongst the Foundation....
I took over the rest of the Orientation mainly after that....

That afternoon, before the next session, there was a little promo on the event 'Miri From Dawn To Dusk' that's happening ths Saturday...
before this, CV & SA were finally getting along better as some of the SA members were finally realising things about the Student Services for themselves... they also were interested to get along with the new students... CV went on to stretch a hand to let them help in the orientation...
so, Andrew helped to promote the said event... though with his lack of knowledge on the event, there were some notes to help him through...
anyway, the next session was introduction to the campus rules/policies/etc and all that...
pretty boring.. and at the end of it, I and Kimmy tried to liven things up, but weren't really...
Abel, who happened to be there to check on us, decided to take matters into his capable hands.. and he energized the place...
With time to spare, Abel used it to have the group to discuss on their group performances for this coming O-nite, this Saturday...
but before that, he helped introduce the tutorial timetable to them... and helped to explain how they should read the timetable... with that over with... the groups were formed and both CV & SA members that were there went to help around.. both to explain the timetable to those who missed Abel's lecture or to help them conduct a little of their discussion...
after that, Abel went off and just let us go on with this... soon enough, everyone began to go on home... until there were some of us there... six of us to be exact... I, Iqbal, Azie, & three new students, Janice, Anabel & John(?)... or was it Alwyn? forgotten his name....
These three were of the Elephant group.. and as the days had shown, the Elephant group's cheer wasn't really good... and was proving to be 'hurting' Iqbal's capabilities to conduct a group so far...
there, we got to discuss on their cheer and finally we got to have one better cheer for them now.... better than their last one at least...

That night, at 7pm, there was supposed to be a meeting with Student Council as planned during last week's meeting with them... but it was cancelled and moved to the next day at the same time....
tomorrow's Morning Energizer session had been placed under Izzah's hands... (without her beforehand knowledge, for your information)...
So we of CV had decided for a meeting that night....
so the rest of the day after Orientation was over, was pretty much spent at the cafeteria... bored to death for me... just hung with Iqbal, Kimmy, Jenny, Sara and some more others....
then came the time of the meeting....
We discussed on what we could do for the session... and we made a finally decision to do a game called 'Monkey See, Monkey Do'... I won't elaborate further from there, as this is a CV 'trademark' in a sense...
Then some more discussion were done, involving the Orientation night... but I forgot on what exactly....
Over with the discussions, we had to do some practise for the energizer session.. did the practise for less than an hour and then we were done...


And I definitely must remember this... at the end, somewhere.. my mind actually snapped and I felt that I had experienced a short moment of insanity for a while... truely!
with pressure of work coming on me as of late.. my mind just couldn't stand, I supposed...
I was laughing hysterically at the feeling for a while.. before I finally felt normal again... Iqbal & Jenny, I believe got to notice that....
darn... scary thought....

Anyway.. I think we went out to Lou Bin Tang, somewhere in the Senadin housing neighborhood... if my memory is right...
and oh yeah! Jenny, who had stopped her studying in Curtin, was meant to go back the next day... but with much convincing and Abel's working... she was able to stick around til the last day of Orientation... YAY!!

Morning... Energizer session!! gathered the groups together and so we began the session...
Everyone had fun during the 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' part of the session, which was great....
however, the fun had to end and then we moved on to the next session, introduction to the foundation program and the lecturers....
Actually, at first I just stuck around the LT Foyer where the Energizer session was held earlier.. together with the other CV members... but then suddenly I was called to MC the Orientation... immediately I rushed to the Library Reading Room where the next session was being held...
didn't understand what happened to Andrew, or for that matter, the other SA members... but didn't care at the time...
after the lecturers' introductions, then the new students were brought to do their tutorial group registrations back at the LT Foyer...
Which then left only a few back at the library reading room.. namely Me, Abel, Iqbal, Azie & Mdm. Bibi Aminah, the Director of the Pre-University Program...
We got to talk together there... there were some inside matters that's been bothering all of us as of late...
Abel got to know from a very reliable source, a clear reason why Ms. Fidella had not enjoyed the idea of CV's participation in the O-Week...
Quote "I don't wish for CV to have too much of power..."

Oh come on!! Is this about politics? What the!?
I won't say much on this... cause there's no need for that anymore...
but it sure as hell bothered us (and especially Abel) at the time...

Finally, decided to go for lunch.... got to hang around with friends, amongst the new students and also amongst our CV members...
after that.. then back to the Orientation... the next session was introduction to the campus policies and all that...
quite a boring session like some others as well.... thankfully, Abel was there to save the day when he appeared to check how we were doing... he gave an energizing talk with them, before there were all called into groups to discuss on their ...

That evening, we had another meeting, as the next day, for the morning energizer session was also under Abel..
We discussed a little on that, but we were low on new ideas... so we decided to spend half of the one-hour session for the energizer and then the rest a little for the group's own discussion for the performance...
Tomorrow's activities are going to be done nearly the same as last Thursday's... which meant formal attires and stuffs.. with something extra...
tomorrow, at the end of the day, there'll be club registration... which means, it's also time that CV gets new members in... and Abel wanted us to do something special... taking how the CV of Curtin Perth did as an example and aspiration...
We got to decide on selling our CV T-Shirt during the time and also give out personally made bookmarks to the new registered members...
our meeting continued some more on the activities in the evening of this Saturday, before the actual O-nite begins....
we gotten to know the final draft of the schedule during the day itself... and we've been assigned our duties and have gotten to know what we all were supposed to do and need to do... which then ended the meeting...
But then, remember, there was supposed to be a meeting between the Student Council & CV...
mainly for CV to report on their plans for O-nite... and done on 'Miri From Dawn to Dusk'... we got into discussing some complaints on services around campus.... and there was plenty.... won't bother to tlak about them...

Some of us headed on home, but the rest of us had decided to do that personalised bookmark thing that night!
We went out to eat first.. at the coffee shop, Jumbo, situated near Lou Bin Tang... that was when I was able to convince my mother to allow me to stay overnight outside from home for today... within the time of 4 minutes and 33 seconds I can still remember....
had our meals there... it was all right the food.. as we ate, we had many good laughs... you guys should listen to how Gretchel laughs nowadays... it's just gonna leave you laughing as well... hahaha...

after our comfortable meal there, then I got inot Iqbal's car, together with Sara & Jenny... and headed back home... why? to get my formal attire for tomorrow...
Home, got my attire, but was then told to have a shower before we go... as I did, my mother got to talk to Iqbal, Sara & Jenny on what's been going on...
After my shower, we then went off to Kimmy's place where the others were doing the bookmarks...
We quickly got into things and we were all just been imaginative and creative and just went all out with our bookmarks... signing our name at the bottom of the bookmark we'd created...
I only got to make a few, while others got to make a lot more....
We were able to create over 50 bookmarks in a few hours time...
then, we got to spend some more time just having fun... dancing most of the time! haha!
It was great fun... and after 3.30 in the morning, everyone began to go on home to sleep...
I spent my night at Iqbal's place...

Morning Energizer with Abel & CV!
We enjoyed some more fun of 'Monkey See, Monkey Do'...
and then the groups were allowed a short time to discuss on their group performances....
soon enough, time to get into the Reading Room again for the next session of the orientation....
motivational talks by a few lecturers, Mr. Chan, Ms. Beena & Mr. Foad (yes, my IT teacher from last semester... for those of you who've followed my blog since last year...)
In my opinion, all three of them were good in their presentation *coughlecturecough*... but Ms. Beena just had her presentation *coughlecturecough* way too long that it became too boring...
besides the presentation, I recall very much self-appointing myself to watch the room's temperature... and keeping it so that no one's too cold or too hot in the room.. controlling the air-conditioning...
anyway.. all the presentations over, I, as MC, dismissed the new students off for lunch break....
that afternoon would be the Student Council and clubs presentations...

During lunch break, the tutorial registrations for groups was running... I was able to register for Group A easily without much 'queueing in a long long line' problem... cause.. there was barely anyone there at the counter...
after that, I took my lunch, hung with some friends (new & old) and soon enough, back to the orientation...
this time round, things are a lot cimpler for my work... as I didn't have much to do to introduce the Student Council....
just greet the audience and then pass the mic to Raymond Ting, the Student Council President...
then the whole Student Council was introduced and there goes the presentation... followed by Benet to announce the clubs to present themselves...
Clubs after clubs and in the very end, was as before Curtin Volunteers! presentation...
before, it was the two presidents that did the presentation, Serena & Snow Jae.. this time it was Kimmy cause the two had class...
Kimmy did a good job at it too... and at the end of the presentation, as before, we had the CV Dance group to perform a little dance...
ok.. this was when trouble began for me.. haha....
Somewhere in the 'Janet Jackson' dance sequence, I was meant to do some moves.. I did a front flip.. I landed all right, safely enough, but then I suddenly felt dizzy in the head and could not continue to do anything else and just rushed on off the floor, to my embarassment.. haha!
and then after that, since the presentations are all done and the club registrations are now open outside at the LT Foyer... CV was planning to do some more dancing there.. with more space and more people!
I was too rush over there before the new students with the radio.... and as I did, I came across to rush while balancing on a very narrow brick curb... to my misfortune, I slipped and fell...
thankfully, I was able to keep my step and kept going.... plus the radio was safe and unharmed...
however, I couldn't say the same for my left middle and ring finger... somehow, the two had got between the brick curb and a very hard object and were hurting real bad...
I just kept walking and to my dismay, the pain continued and soon, the two felt numb when I finally got to the foyer, found a plug and set up the radio....
I worked to get rid of the numbness... anyway... that wasn't it...
Now with new students coming to the foyer, the CV members gathered in the middle of the foyer and then danced to the 'Janet Jackson' song again... and again, I did that same front flip somewhere in the dance sequence... my landing was better this time, but guess what?
my right knee had felt some pain after my landing but i continued the dance... but then, suddenly my right knee just came from slight pain to terrible agony...
I could barely continue my dance... but I did nonetheless to my own endurance...
once the dance was over, they continued to dance a few other songs, while I went to the sidelines and tried to lessen the pain at my knee...
it hurt a lot... and as time passed.. I was fearing that it may be serious compared to pass similar pains of the same spot...
I did dance one less lively dance.. namely 'The Jungle Song'... but others, I couldn't participate myself....

anyway... apparently, our dancing was attracting a lot of the students... and in the end, we'd actually attracted all of the new students to our CV! Booth from all the other few club booths that were there!
Guess publicity promotions like our dancing can help a lot eh? Just show that you can have fun and still be good at what you do, then for sure people will be attracted to you...
Oh and yeah.. our 50+ personally-made bookmarks? They were all gone even before the booth was done with the registering of new members...
Sales of the CV T-shirts also went quite well...

With registrations all done.. orientation for Foundation now officially done..
we cleared up the CV! booth and most of us headed on home to rest.... or prepare for this Saturday...
I stayed back... according to Iqbal, they were planning to go to Desserts at about 7.30pm... and I'm joining them...
Iqbal went for class and I just hung around with friends... and as time drew closer to 7.30, ended up only me, Azie & Serena just talking and resting at the cafeteria...
when Iqbal was done with class, we went to his car... had to send Azie back first cause she had band practise and then went to pick up Kimmy who wanted to do some shopping at DPS Supermarket...
after that, she was sent home and then we went around Senadin, picking up friends who wanted to join us for dinner and then Desserts... which were Joanna, VJ, Izzah & Gretchel... (Amazing we were able to fit this many people in the car, eh?)
Got to contact Abel about it and he headed on to Sultana where we'd decided to go for dinner first while we went around to pick up the gang...
We joined Abel quite some time later... had our dinner, enjoyed talking with each other... then Desserts....
wah.. for the first time that a gang, which consisted of some of the loudest people in CV, at our favorite spot Desserts, and we were quiet... main reason was identified as 'too tired'...
I still recall something that Izzah kept repeating.. a feedback from a new friend of ours...
"Didn't we just leave you guys at 3 to 4 this morning and now you guys are still dancing like crazy!!?"
hahaa... fatigue is all in the mind.... have fun and one can do ANYTHING...

Anyway... got home to sleep.. tomorrow, I planned to come to campus early in the day to see if there was any of the Orientation groups practising on campus..
cause I wanted to see any potential.. *ahem* Mr. & Ms. O-Week...
which by the way, the title was changed... due to the circumstances that we of CV did not spend long enough a time with the new students to be able to fairly identify a couple of new students that actually meet with the Mr. & Ms. O-Week criteria... and that new title was still in pending at this time...

Morning, at 9, I had a haircut... and then took a shower and then by 10, I drove my sister's car to Boulevard and went to finally buy that USB/handy/pendrive plus MP3 player... for RM295... quite all right lah...
before that, I met Pn. Mariana, the English teacher who asked me to re-write the SPM english essay I wrote before for her... she told me that she'd received the essay and hadn't gotten around to read it... but she thanked me for it and then gave me RM10!
She said that she would've treated me breakfast but she hadn't the time to do that.. with that, she then went on off already... haha...
wow... Rm10 just for writing a simple essay... cool!

Anyway... back home after buying the pendrive.. I immediately got into the computer to collect some songs and at the same time, familiarise myself with the pendrive's functions... it functions to my liking...
collecting some of the songs, time to go to campus together with my brother, who had something to take care of there...
There on campus... went to have lunch and got to meet some old classmates... namely Listiari, Nadia & Edmund!! Missed the old gang...
After lunch.... I got to meet with some groups and gotten to identify some potential candidates...
and at the same time, got to test out my new pendrive on the field I was hoping to operate it at... it works just fine for me...

time went by and then evening time, meeting amongst CV to finalise everything for the next day...
and we got to discuss some details that had been overlooked in past meetings... but with Benet who joined us later, we were able to cover them..
discussion went on til nightfall... and then we all headed home to rest and prepare for tomorrow.. the big day itself....
but before that, Iqbal had brought me to Parkson.. Initial plan was for him to exchange some Brunei money for Ringgit Malaysia.... and then after that, he treated me for KFC...
did a very quick grocery shopping in Giant Supermarket... we were about to head back, when he got a call from Kimmy... he stayed on the phone for quite a while...
turned out she wanted to order something and we headed for Pizza Hut and made our 'take-away' order...
waiting more than fifteen minutes later, we got our order and we then left... I got home and then Iqbal headed back...
Iqbal's car had been acting up recently and it's getting more difficult to start his car... He was even afraid to stop his car to pump fuel that he had asked me to get ready if worse scenario came...
to be honest, I was hoping for that... then I get to be with him and possibly the others as well.. but nothing seemed to happen, so I went on to sleep...

Morning, I got to drive to campus on my own...
went around again to observe the different group practising... I was particularly interested with my group, cause I wasn't able to watch them much... and I was actually hoping that Iby Moh would be able to make it into the candidates...
but when I was able to join up my group and watch them practise... I was disappointed to find out that she won't be joining for the O-Nite.... too bad...

anyway... as the sun climbed higher and higher, soon came the time for the O-City Tour... basically a tour for the new students to get to know the city...
I was able to bid 'bye-bye' as the buses went off for the tour... and so I just went to the cafeteria to have a 'very light' lunch... guess who I got to meet? ok... bad choice of question...
It was Johnna, assistant leader of the Penguin group and one of the few potential candidates that we, among the CV members, were particularly interested with...
He and two more of his friends, Khai & Joe planned to go for bowling and had even invited me to join.. oh my gosh! I was so surprised that they're inviting me to join them... however I declined... I wouldn't wanna spend my money.. plus I would have to head to Piasau Boat Club by 2pm to prepare the venue for that night...
If that was surprising enough, I was SHOCKED when it turned out that they'll treat me to play! and Johnna even offered to personally send me to the boat club at 2...
quote "No problem.. It's all right.." those were the words that Johnna kept saying.. haha!
finally I accepted their offer... lucky me!

As we headed to Parkson where the bowling place was, I got to know that Johnna is quite some guy... joined singing, bowling tournaments and had been able to make quite a good performance, though he didn't come out of them with complete victory...
what's more, he's working at the bowling place at Parkson.... and when we were there, we were able to get some free games... wow! We played...
That day, my bowling performance was satisfyingly better than before.... I was even able to connect four spares in a row and even did a double strike... wow... I'm amazed by my performance...
my highest personal best for bowling so far is 137 in one game... recorded at least...
but Johnna made my performance like that of an amateur.... he was connected tens after tens a lot.... his score shot over 200 in each game.... simply amazing...

anyway... after three games, then we were done and Johnna helped to send me to Piasau Boat Club....
had a little trouble finding the place, but after he asked direction help from a patroling officer in the neighborhood, we were able to locate the place...
Now... since we've arrived... time for some work...

The first person I met there was John Mui, one of the Student Council members... then at the restaurant, the Village was setting up the sound system and all that..
soon the others has arrived....
we then went on to prepare for the evening games.. namely, Waterballoon Fight (Kimmy in charge), Volleyball (me) & Tug-of-War (Iqbal)...
Registrations was quite difficult and we had less participation than expected, but we went on with the games....
I'll only talk about my game, the Volleyball.. with much assistance from Sara... was able to get this game running smoothly...
With six teams, loser-knockout style tournament with only ten minutes limit for each match, we were able to get to a winner... the group called Adolescent!! Congrats to them...
And my apologies to one particular team, who lost in a obviously unfair game... thanks to me... very very sorry for the inconvenience... but we were running low time...

Quickly with that over, I headed off to have a quick shower to rid myself of all the sand on me...
luckily I was able to be done just in time to get ready before the specials guests starts arriving.. namely the Acting Dean of Curtin Sarawak Malaysia, Dr. Barbara & YB Lee Kim Shin....
By the way, the two MCs for the night were VJ & Nadia...
the Starlet band was there to perform... yes, Azie's family was there to perform.. but only four of them... including Tania...
After the speeches by Raymond Ting, Dr. Barbara & YB Lee Kim Shin, there was a official opening ceremony, which was when we all got to the front around the three.... with the press reporters taking photos... (And yes, the photo did came out in today's newspaper... I have the proof)
after that, was time for dinner.. Yay! I was able to get my round of meal, with the help of John Mui...
and oh yeah, during dinner, there was a musical performance by the Curtin Music Club Band...

After dinner, it was time for the group performances...
man.. were things beginning to get wild or what.... and guess which team went up first? MINE!! The Wolf group, combined with the Cat group...
after that.. more performances by Starlet... Abel even told me to hand a flower to Azie as she performed... but I told him her hands were tied, so she wouldn't be able to accept the flower anyway...
as Starlet performed, people were at first kinda shy to go to the dance floor and dance... thankfully.. me and a few others were able to get some people to step up and soon, more followed and then there was a large group of people dancing to the music and the Starlets even accepted our request for ONE LAST song....
ok.. with that over, more group performances followed...
one group would include Roger, Adrian Foo, Guan Thai, Tina & another two friends of theirs...
it was a cool dance they did... Para Para Sakura...
anyway... with all the group performances over and done with... we had quite some more fun around...
which included CV dance group, Student Council dancing & even the part where EVERYONE danced to 'The Jungle Song'... it was great fun and we all had a good laugh...

Then came the climax of the night... the candidates for Mr. & Ms. O-Week... which for this semester is called Mr. & Ms. O-Fiesta...
The candidates for Mr. were Richard aka Coconut Man, Jimmy aka Mini-Bal, Eddie & Josh...
The candidates for Ms. were Melania, Elaine, Linda, Sabrina & Janice...
there got interviewed by the two MCs, VJ & Nadia.... and the candidates were even told to perform in front of everybody...
anyway... let's leave that aside for now...
this part was then the prize-giving session for the winners of the games that evening... of the Waterballoon fight, Volleyball match & also the Tug-of-War...
and then, the group with the best performance... in third place, Group 7 & 8 of Degree(Brit, Josh, V & others), in second place was Group Penguin & Monkey of Foundation (Johnna and his group) & finally the winner for Best Group Performance went to the Foundation group, Group Elephant & Bird (Richard aka Coconut Man, Janice, Anabel & the rest of their group)


And finally... we come to know who will be Mr. & Ms. O-Fiesta 2005....
For Ms. O-Fiesta........ MELANIE!!! Congratulations, girl! You definitely deserved it!
For Mr. O-Fiesta........ JIMMY!!! Hahahaa! Congrats, my man!! Your singing was excellent!! You too deserved it!
All the rest of you... Thank you for your participation... We're all winners! With our experiences and our enjoyment! Hope you'll all have a great future!!

Sigh.. now.. with that over... we just enjoy ourselves to some dancing.... haaha!
What an enjoyable night... but to be honest.. it was bittersweet for me...
not that because it is the end of orientation (the funnest part of university life) and that semester will finally begin tomorrow (Monday).... but it's just some of the things that happened that night...
for one, a very dear friend of mine got pissed off by someone (which at the time I didn't know who) and even decided to leave home early for the night....
then there was also Jenny who'll be going back the next morning...
Then one more thing.... I got to talk with Azie... about our relationship... as I suspected, we were just staying at the close friends level... plus with my feelings gone for her... I guess it's only reasonable that we just continue to stay as close friends... 'brother & sister'...

there... now everyone can know.. I've been thinking about talking to Azie about this.. was only able to do so last night...
Honestly, I'd been thinking about this throughout this week and it just kept urging me to talk about it to someone.. but I was patient enough to let Azie be the first one to know about this...
and I'm glad at that at least... and now everyone can know...

Anyway... the O-nite is over.. but Abel, Iqbal, Sara, KC, VJ & some others were going to continue the party at Cheerie Berries after having a meal at Al Fresco...
I initially thought to join... but then decided not too... and headed on home....
for some strange reason.. I constantly felt a strange feeling of depression... I don't know of what though.... might it be the bitterness of this ending?

I don't know the answer to that, honestly... but still it's been a great time...
Lots and lots of great memories.. this week alone... sigh... so great....
To be honest.. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow... during my first day of the semester...
getting to meet and join up with the old gang... and also the new gang....
and I also wonder.. will those people from Orientation remember me and greet me? with at least a smile...?
we'll see what happens.... can't wait...
Man.. I'm loving my university life!!
